Dashpot help

Unread postby 95GTSpeedDemon » Tue Apr 23, 2019 5:46 pm

So im struggling with an intermittent de-clutch stall. i dont have the time right now to go into more info. please take a look and see if you can see why it may stall. only seems to happen on a 5th gear clutch press while coasting, about 40mph or lower. btw mph works on dash, not in log for some reason.

Update:
its a CBAZA/T4MO in a Fox, with Fox harness.

When getting off the interstate in 5th, it stalled after pressing on the clutch. did the same in 5th while coasting about 38mph. only time is does it. if you give it throttle any other time, it dashpots down like normal. maybe im missing something with dashpot?

It does not have a VSS signal to the pcm since its in a fox, it just has the mechanical speedometer. Can the missing VSS signal cause IAC issues?

I tried correct airflow for the 600rpm IAC cell, died. made it almost the same as the 850rpm cell, no dice. made it slightly slower than 850rpm airflow and it helped some, but it didnt work while getting off the interstate. I feel like theres something im overlooking. I would expect the IAC to be commanded higher than 55% when the rpm starts dropping fast. the declutch stall is at the end of the log(s)

Side note; its mechanically set to idle at 850, target idle of 950.

so your saying your decelling and tap the throttle and then it stalls but only if you tap the throttle while decelling and yet if you decel without tapping the throttle it doesn't stall? that would be dashpot pre-position taking dashpot out when you blip the throttle during decel

the vss is needed for dashpot on decel otherwise the ecu has no way to differentiate between idle and decel, but no the vss doesn't directly affect the iac

the ecu controlled foxes came with a vss

i have no idea what your talking about when you say the airflow for the 600 rpm idle cell or 850 rpm cell i never knew they had those

if you want the iac duty cycle higher then put more dashpot in it or put less decay in it

at idle, 0 mph, tap the throttle - rpm smoothly comes down to idle. no issue.
driving along in 5th gear, let off gas, coasting, hit clutch and the engine drops below idle and dies. no surge, rpm just falls.

Is there any benefit of adjusting the LH column in dashpot decay? I havent gotten my head 100% wrapped around whats exactly needed.

RH column, when numerical value is reduced, rpm drop slows. The upper cells are for higher rpm and lower cells for idle and just above idle correct?
