CBAZA Swap

Unread postby Mach1fun » Wed Nov 28, 2018 12:53 pm

A friend of mine has a '66 Comet that he installed a 331 stroker in. He is using the Ford Racing ECU harness. I have initially tuned his car with the A9L2 tune and it is running great so far. He is using a borrowed A9L ECU. I have a '94 Mustang GT that I will be installing a Pro-M Racing Coil-on-plug Engine Management System in so, my T4M0 ECU is available. Can you send me your tune to do the CBAZA swap and any info on using/controlling an electric fan?

Thanks "Landho" but I was looking for a specific tune that already has everything disabled and setup for the swap. At the bottom of the swap write-up, Decipha states "A base tune with these values changed will be provided upon request. Simply post on the forum." I was trying to be lazy and start with a tune much closer to what I will need since I have a three and an eight year old that take up all my free time after work and I was doing this as a favor to my friend since he has never tuned a car before and was not happy with the way the car was running before I did the initial tune. He says the car is running like a beast now with the A9L2 tune. We still need to dial-in the fuel, timing and throttle body but it's pretty close. I plan on hooking up my wideband so that we can do some datalogging to get everything dialed-in.

You still have to dial in your tune per the required values section on that page

I have a decipha tune - it was a9l2 - but - just switched to t4m0 w/ CBAZA ... I was able to do the a9l to cbaza swap, then adjust t2m2 parameters in my tune per that linked write up, fire up, and - fuel was off (due to MAF sensor issue & stuck fuel return - which, were probably why I swapped anyways - sigh), but was able to fire up otherwise okay.

Also - I have kids and family, too.

The a9l2 and t4m2 .bins are base tunes - not load and go - they still need to be dialed in for YOUR setup ... they are simplified in Decipha’s mind, they both still require changes and fine “tuning” and understanding what is changed from a stock Bin.

http://www.efidynotuning.com/started.htm will get you in the right direction, links in post above will get you to the files and required parameters.

What chip and software are you using?

I'm using the Moates Quarterhorse and TunerPro RT. I have been slowly dialing in the current tune when I read the "Foxbody ECU to SN94-95 Mustang ECU swap" article today. I have past experience tuning the CBAZA strategy so I thought that this was a good idea. I do have a question, on my '94 5-speed Mustang, I used a Lightning MAF with 30# FMS injectors so I input all the parameters for the injectors and meter in my tune and went from there. My friend's car has a calibrated MAF, C&L or BBK or something else so I don't have the MAF curve since it is calibrated for a stock engine with 30lb injectors. Do I just change the engine displacement and leave the injector and MAF parameters stock? Obviously, I still have to dial in the throttle body, fuel, and spark. Thanks!

I saw that but wasn't sure if that could be used for any calibrated MAF. Does it matter which one I use, PMAS Simplified or regular? Can you send me your tune to do the CBAZA swap and any info on using/controlling an electric fan?

It’s just a starting point ... if you don’t have the curve from the vendor of the MAF ... even if you did you may have to scale it - but at least you can start there, and re-read several times the “Base Fuel” section here http://www.efidynotuning.com/fuel.htm

As mentioned above - I paid decipha for my tune - but I try to follow along -
