.beb vs .bin

Unread postby thequietman45 » Sun Nov 04, 2018 4:46 am

Well I have this Bronco running pretty good. I read all the stuff I could find on .beb vs .bin but my Jaybird and F3v2 chip seem to have loaded the .beb correctly. See the attached screen shot. Let me know if I am missing something please. This Bronco will be on a dyno in December but until then I was just going to run what I have figured out. It idles well, pulls well, AFR is good (LC-2)

My question is what is the difference (other than security) between a .beb and a .bin and will this chip run the tune if its burned as a .beb??

a beb file is a binary editor file, BE converts this to a bin when you write it

a bin file is an actual tune that runs on the ecu

you cannot write a beb file without binary editor

a bin file can be used on all tuning software one way or another as they all HAVE to convert to a bin to write the tune

the screenshot u posted is useless ??

Just wanted a peer check to ensure that this f3v2 would work since nothing plainly states that it will work with a .beb file.

The screen shot was just what I had gotten when I programmed the chip. Thank you for your time.
