A9L2 to binary editor

Unread postby RClements95 » Wed Apr 04, 2018 9:37 pm

New to the forum here,

Can decipha's A9L2 calibration be loaded to binary editor. If so what are the steps? When i download the file to my laptop it says I need to export it to an excel file and it will not allow me too. Any help is appreciated.

no it cannot, the a9l2 uses the gufx strategy with tunerpro only otherwise you won't be able to see valid data

I'm learning so please be understanding if I'm missing the obvious. Just the other day I loaded the GUFB strategy to BE, I then loaded the A9L2 calibration with MAF curves recommended in the start up tutorial as well as my manufacturers injector curves to my C3W1 with QH. My car started right up and idled smooth. Was that not supposed to work? I was going off recommendations from another one of your threads...Thanks

Decipha,
I've been doing a lot of thread reading on this forum to get a basic understanding of the tuning process, I've read all of the pre and beginning steps as well as steps 1-4 . I have a BE dongle, but am just getting started in learning it. I have no problem switching to TunerPro RT if it's easier to learn and I can benefit from the great work you have doing here, especially if I can use the A9L2 def. Do you recommend me switching to TunerPro RT now while it's early? Also, I am about to purchase an EEC analyzer dongle, is that the preferred software? I have an AEM 30-4110 WB coming in the mail, per your advice on other threads.

My engine is a stock 95 mustang short block that I've freshened with new rings & honed cylinders, new bearings and polished journals, Erson cam, TFS high port iron heads, TFS Box R intake, 76mm C&L MAF, 75mm BBK TB, 30# Accel injectors, and shorty headers with X-pipe (I've read how you state I must eliminate an O2 sensor). It's in a 66 mustang with a 4 speed toploader... let me know if there are any glaring issues with my setup.

Thank you much.

Ok, on my own accord I've switched over to tuner pro RT. I've got the Injector Time offset vs. Voltage curve changed and a recommended MAFV transfer curve input. I'll plug away on more changes and start a new thread if I have questions.

Thanks

I find tunerpro is much easier especially for a newbie as its much faster to get going than using BE, in any case I can't use BE cuz clint remotely disabled my dongle during an update a couple years back so im forced to use tunerpro

yep no problem

Now why would Clint do such a thing?

FYI, I'm still able to flash new tunes using BE and A9L2. I use TunerPro RT all the time when tuning my Buells, but I haven't quite made the switch for GUFB. Does the ADX you made have a full datalogging dashboard and everything? I want to switch to GUFX on TunerPro, but I'm planning to inject my '66 Mustang using the harness and CDAN4 setup I had in my '71 (RIP)... I think the only path forward for that is to continue using BE (SailorBob def).

'79 Bronco: 8.5:1 408M EEC-IV (GUFB:X3Z) with EDIS8
'71 Mach 1: RIP, but was CDAN4 on a 10:1 408W
'66 Mustang GT: needs EFI

I asked him in person a couple years ago and he told me he doesnt allow binary files anymore for those that have obdii licenses to prevent reverse engineering.

Yea the tunerpro datalogging is significantly better than any other software.

I have most of cdan4 disassembled but I only use it as a reference for other 2 banks. I never made a complete xdf for it since no one has ever requested it and I never had the need. If you have dereks full cdan4 it would be wise to stick with that.
