2 step/ launch control

Unread postby 91foxgt » Sun Jan 07, 2018 1:14 pm

I am currently running a A9L2 tune in my 91 mustang gt and stumbled upon an option called two step. I was curious to see if it would work so i enabled it and tweaked it to the rpm i desired. It seems to "kinda" work but it's not that great. the rpm goes up to my desired limit but it fluctuates too much. I have it set a 3500rpm for now but when i step on the gas the rpm just keeps randomly bouncing between 2300rpm and 3700rpm which is a pretty big gap. Also the car vibrates way to much. I want to know if there are more settings to it for it to operate better and smoother.

Indicated RPM or actual? I posted a video of my car on the 2 step in another thread and the tach gets pretty wacky, but actual engine speed stays pretty consistent. If the car vibrates too much for your taste on the stepper, I assume this is your first experience with one? Welcome to the forum.

ohh so its just the tachometer showing wack rpms while the actual rpm is good. Also yes, it is the first time having 2 step in my fox so i assumed the vibration wasn't right. Anyway i have another question, the 2 step is engaged with or without the clutch pressed in and i want to change it to where its only on with the clutch pressed. Is there any settings for that? btw my trload (transmission type) is set to 0 and if i change it, the 2 step doesn't work.

The stepper uses the clutch switch on the pedal, the neutral sensing switch in the trans, and the vss to trigger the second limiter. I do not have a clutch switch and mine works if the trans is in gear at a stop. TRLOAD is 2 in my tune.

I'll change my trload to 2 also and see if it works. Thanks
