FN035 / Max N/A Load Question - Solved

Unread postby yeastieBoB » Fri Dec 29, 2017 12:18 pm

So I read "To determine max N/A load do WOT in 2nd gear from idle to redline and note load at each 1300 rpm interval."

Am I supposed to do this from a dead stop or from a roll? Or does it not matter as long as I can capture load at 1300 and up?

I'm not able to get perload dialed in using 2nd gear in my car so I used 3rd. The trick is making sure rpm is low enough that the load spike from manifold filling is over by the time you reach 1300 rpm.

I guess there's no reason I can't do a few different pulls. Thanks for the input.

I want to make sure I'm doing this correctly.

For example, at 6500 RPM my load equaled .726 VE.

So I take the current FN035 value at 6500 and multiply it by .726?

This will take the value at 6500 from .65 to .47, is that correct?

no

load is absolutely useless for fuel, load is only used for spark

simply log PERLOAD at that 6500 rpm. Whatever perload is thats the exact multiplier for FN035.

if your using tunerpro i have a histogram setup that does it for you

Ah, thanks. Glad I asked. I read about the histograms. I'll see if I can figure that out.

I forgot I had your instructions from another post:

decipha wrote:i have a histogram setup for fn035, if you click the history table button two buttons to the right of the show dashboard button it will pop up with the histogram tables

click on his_perload_err table from the drop down, then select running average from the next drop down under view, do a wot pull and the perload error will be saved in the far right column (730+ tprel)

These are the perload values I got when manually sifting through the log.
    NE PERLOAD
    RPM %Load
    1380 1.251
    2584 0.994
    3912 0.971
    5152 1.087
    6512 1.119

Here's what the histogram showed for the same log. When taking the running average, I played back the log from 1,280 to 6,656 RPM. The first WOT RPM in the log file is at 1,380. Does it matter if the running average uses a little RPM at part throttle?

    RPM Hist_Perload_Err (Running Average)
    1300 1.252
    2600 0.967
    3900 0.985
    5200 1.103
    6500 1.044
