Timing Control/ Table
I finally got my mach 1 running. i drove it friday night and got a couple of good datalogs. After replaying the logs i noticed at WOT im only getting 15* of timing. Im using the 03/04 cobra bin with the Zya2 maf curve. i also copied over the injector data. I was going to use the stock mach bin but its corrupt and i couldnt figure out what was corrupted to fix it. But anyway to help me understand the timing table and timing control of these strategies what table should i use to tune the timing and fuel? For a base startup tune the car runs really well and is close to being ready to burn the final chip but id like to get the timing and fuel as good as possible before i burn the chip. BTW, All credit goes to decipha for making these bins really good starting points.

Re: Timing Control/ Table
I went to the mbt timing chart on the homepage to confirm. The mod engines don't like much timing at all. you're in the ballpark with 15 wot based on the chart.

Re: Timing Control/ Table
After looking over my tune i cant figure out why i was only getting 15* of total timing at WOT. It shouldve been at least 24* of timing. And after going over the log i cant see why or what would pull 9* out. Ill post my log and tune.

Re: Timing Control/ Table
Ok, Scratch everything ive posted in this post! Ive been reading the Ignition timing/ spark advance write-up. Some of the things are not found in the FBGIO bins but most are. I have a couple of questions about the write-up. First, it says to make fn799 and fn766 mirror each other. In the ZYA2 bin those two functions are completely different so which should be changed to mirror the other? Second, Are all base spark changes made in FN2200 table?

you don't want 24* @ WOT on a boosted mod motor. I'm on a Fox body so my info on newer stuff is minimal.

Re: Timing Control/ Table
Its a stock mach 1 with longtubes, X-pipe and 01 cobra cams. The only other mods im thinking of doing is a 90mm lightning maf and JLT cold air.

Re: Timing Control/ Table
Im a foxbody guy myself. This is my 3rd mod motor car but the first that im tuning. Its definitely different to navigate verses the GUFX strategy.red5.0fogger wrote: ↑2022 Dec 22, 06:27 http://www.efidynotuning.com/mbt.htm

oh so no boost, the 03/04 cobra was boosted i think (terminator) so that's why the lower timing.

Re: Timing Control/ Table
Yes. After reading the write-up again i realized some things seem different than when i was tuning my capri. I ended up copying the timing table from the stock mach 1 bin over to my bin. Im still finding things that im having to copy over but overal the car runs good. I havent had a chance to drive it since ive updated the timing table. And Fn2200 is the timing table thats being used along with ect and act modifiers. I think i finally got grasp on it last night after studying it for about an hour. We'll see when i get a chance to get back at it! lol
