MBT Timing RHS heads

Unread postby ajy113 » Mon Dec 09, 2019 12:06 pm

I'm working on getting a new 408 running with RHS heads and trying to get best ballpark timing to get this thing running. I see the MBT chart has the RHS heads for SBF pretty low at 22 degrees, can any of you guys running these heads or had experience confirm ballpark MBT?

That is correct. The RHS heads are extremely fast burn heads and by far one of the most efficient burning heads for the small block ford.

I've tuned several of them and they all make max power in the low 20s.

btw, I have RHS heads on my 408 as well.

no prob now keep in mind that mbt is at 0 vac / 0 boost if you were naturally aspirated or when not in boost (~about half throttle or so).

If your pushing 10lbs of boost to her I'd start off at 12 degrees of timing at wot and go from there.

Yep Got it - thanks. Lowest timing numbers I’ve done were on 11R’s so I wanted to get your feedback on such a low number for sbf at ~22
