TurboCoupe Tune Information

Unread postby decipha » Sun Oct 25, 2015 3:16 pm

the turbocoupe ecu's are quite confusing, there's a bunch of mix-matched info out there and nothing 100% validated or set in stone, the def files are a mess and to my knowledge no one has a complete strategy file they've shared

from information from various sources this is what i've concluded, the most supported is the T23B strategy with the following catch codes

T23B strategy
8UA - automoatic turbocoupe
LA3 - manual trans
LB3

---------------
ZBA - 16 bytes - oldest 1983-84 ecu uses external boost control hardware and has a daughter board, not supported at all
-----------------
PE STRATEGY - MOST ALL 84-86
"EFI-TC3" hardware code
PJ catch code
---------------------------------
"EFI-TC5" hardware code
PF3
PK1

'if anyone has any accurate info please do share

these are also supposedly turbocoupe catch codes but haven't been verified

LB2
LA
PF2
PC1
PE
PF2
PK - 16 bytes

there has been mention of the LSD strategy???

LA3 (manual), 8UA (late auto), LB3 (early auto, somewhat rare) are the last turbo EECs. They are the fastest processors and the best supported.

LA2 and LB2 are the immediate predecessors. The ECU is the same hardware but the cals are missing a few features. As the ECU hardware is the same the LA3/8UA cal can be run in this.

LA and LB are a little older but again the same ECU hardware so the LB3/8UAcals can be used.

I believe that all the cals starting with P use the same hardware so the PE cal can be used in all of them as it is the best broken out.

I believe there are 2 early ECUs (ZBA and TA) that don't play with any of our cal tools. I believe they have the same pinouts as the P series so they can be swapped out.

svojohn has created strategies for the LA3 to run Speed density using a 3/4bar GM Map.

yes, the LSD bin with a 3bar map (or any 0-5V MAP) and GM ACT. for use with BE. I'm not sure if it's been updated, but i was thinking about contacting him about it. Seems to work better than the MAF code.

LSD HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED ITS A VERY ROUGH DRAFT THOSE WHO ARE NOT PICKY RUN IT BECAUSE ITS FREE
WHEN I GET COUGH UP WITH THINGS LIKELY WINTER I WILL SIT DOWN WITH MY EXTREMELY LONG LIST OF LSD ISSUES
AND STRAIGHTEN IT OUT ! UNLESS SOMEONE DOES IT FOR ME LOL
THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS ITS NOT TRUE SD THE IAT HAS LIMITED FUNCTIONALITY JOHN HAS SET A DEFAULT BARO AND THERE IS NO REAL TIME WEATHER CORRECTIONS
ON MY SETUP IT GOES LEAN WHEN HIGH IATS EXIST SO ITS NOT WORTH BURNING UP A MOTOR TO ME
AND IT ALSO REQUIRES IT TO BE WROTE TO EVERY QH TUNE POSITION TO BE STABLE NOT FOR ME
LATE WINTER EARLY SUMMER JOHN SPENT A LOT OF TIME WITH ME GOING OVER DETAILS OF LA3 AND LSD
HE HAS NO INTEREST IN FURTHER DEVELOPMENT AS HE HAS BETTER THINGS TO DO IN LIFE
LSD IS AVAILABLE FOR BINARY EDITOR IN THE FORM IT EXIST IF THERE IS INTEREST I CAN POST THE LATEST LSD BIN AND STRAT JOHN HAS RELEASED
AND FOR THOSE INTERESTED MY MAF SETUP IS WORKING GREAT ONCE THE ENTIRE STRATEGY HAS BEEN BROKEN OUT AND IT IS NOT A RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT IT WILL BE AVAILABLE FROM CLINT FOR USE WITH BINARY EDITOR
