Re: Progress check/Help Filling in some blanks

Any further questions on this part of AD conversion? No, i think I understand this part pretty well. Thank you for the assistance. Re: Progress check/Help Filling in some blanks

You need something concrete as a starting point. Find the analogue input conversion and identify the sesnors. Similar with HSI's. Nothing much happens in the program flow until inputs are read. Try find ECT and ACT as a start. Hint - search for anything to do with AD. Bigger hint, Suss out the sub ...

Re: Progress check/Help Filling in some blanks

did you read the disassembly write up? I have numerous times, but for me at least it doesn't give the information on how to interpret what is in the code. It also doesn't break down the structure of how the code is typically laid out, how different subroutines are typically structured, etc... I'm s...

Progress check/Help Filling in some blanks

Hello, I have been trying to learn how to dissasemble and find parameters and such to build an xdf. I have been plugging away at a random SD bin that i pulled from an EEC that had the integrated cruise control. I have no practical use for this EEC other than experimenting. Anyway, for a while i have...

Re: DIY Injector Flow Bench

Hi...testing injectors at 100% duty is not correct, they should be tested at various duty cycles to get a picture of how they will flow under real conditions. Spray pattern will undoubtedly change a bit at various pulse widths too. But there's definitely no way a mechanical relay would be able to m...

Re: New to EEC-IV tuning

you have to match the calibration to the strategy your ECU is using. What you are seeing with the weird values is a strategy missmach. You can use that strategy XDF, just use the matching base tune that is on the download page and upload that to the quarterhorse. But you only need the quarterhorse f...

Yes, it is a Spanish Oak. I'm not really looking to have someone tune this for me. I have tuned newer models via WinOLS using accompanying A2L's, but have not been able to find any map defs or even csvs for the EEC-VI's concerning hex tuning. I would start with the g302 data. None of the other ford racing injectors that I saw had a colored band. Also a few eBay listing also showed orange rings for that series of injectors.

Both binary editor and the lux0 cry strategy are paid licenses. so i cant send you the cry file as it's encrypted to my license, and installing BE won't do you any good without a license.

i dont want to sound rude, but how many ways do you have to be told SCP and J1850-pwm are the SAME THING! SCP is what ford called it, but it IS j1850-pwm. That’s epic @decipha. Now how it’s done... if I can assist in any way I have discussed this issue with Dakota, their reply is “We support j1850 pwm and vpw, yours is SCP, too bad.” The other exciting part is they are using a Borgwarner trans and not the 4R70. I’m less concerned with trans controls ...

Re: Possible to change PCM datastream

SCP is j1850-pwm. The Dakota dash probably supports the j1850-vpw, that is gm standard. If it doesn't specify one or the other then the possibility is high it will work with the global obd pids on the j1850-pwm (SCP) bus.

Re: ECU has an odd IC in it

The behavior is normal with the quarterhorse installed. If it's got a incorrect bin for the hardware, or a corrupt/missing bin it will cause the fuel pump to run constantly. Load an a9l.bin to the qh and try it again.

Re: ECU has an odd IC in it

You can still use the quarterhorse as it bypasses the internal rom anyway. No need to buy a new ecu as yours is just fine. You will be able to read it out from the j3 port, but not write to it. You need a special cable to plug in directly to the chip itself.

That's an undocumented chip that moates sells off site. It works similar to a standard f3 chip, just needs a special flash cable. It replaces the internal rom chip so it's semi permanent chip install.

A9S is fully broken out in Binary Editor, but nobody to my knowledge has made an xdf for tunerpro. Most shops use SCT to tune. For the DIY community its either BE or Tunerpro. BE has the largest consumer base and has the most supported vehicles. Only down side is its not free software like TunerPro....

If you have a tweecer, you are limited to what can be done with the strategy as it only serves the changes and not the entire bin. So your locked to the bin and strategy on your hardware. A quarterhorse serves the whole bin so it makes swapping strategies trivial. To my understanding about the a9 se...
